Tapas means ‘to burn or create heat’ and there was certainly that at an emergency rally in Mile End to defend democracy in Tower Hamlets last night, following Eric Pickles announcement to send in commissioners to oversee the running of Tower Hamlets Council (THC). My Message to the Government

A series of 5 short films were made at the People’s Assembly National Demonstration which took place in London over the weekend.  People attending were asked to contribute a one sentence message to the government.  The films capture some of the messages shared and runs with the hashtag #mymsgtothegov  – and asks viewers to use the hashtag to share their own personal message to the government. The Rucksack Project – Simple Initiative to Assist the Homeless

The Rucksack Project is a global initiative designed to enable all to assist the homeless, especially during the chilling winter months. Matthew White, Founder of the project encourages individuals to obtain a rucksack (with shoulder straps) and fill it with helpful items.  Once full, the rucksack can be given to a homeless person. He suggests visiting charity shops to purchase items and reminds us that items can be collected incrementally over a period of time.
